ABOUT US

A ROLLER SKATING RINK FOR EVERYONE TO ENJOY

ROLLERRAMA has been brought to life more than thirty years after it’s initial opening by Sarah Andros - a dedicated skater and rollerblader who started skating at the age of nine. Now at the age of 50 she is even more enthusiastic on wheels - her target being to encourage people of ALL AGES to enjoy roller-sports.

So… when you come to ROLLERRAMA you’re not only enjoying the experience of a purpose built Rollerskating Rink - you are also in the hands of a skater and rollerblader who has a deep love and many years of experience in the industry.

A brief history...

Sarah founded the Rollerblading 4 Kids Program in 2009 in Cowaramup and later Margaret River (there is still a program running in Margaret River), as well as the Cabernet
Savages Roller Derby team, which is still actively training and competing.

Every Friday afternoon as many as 60 or more kids would enjoy rollerblading in the
Margaret River Recreation Centre, ranging from 4 to 17 years of age. Lots of fun!!

When she and her family moved away from Margaret River, Sarah continued to
work with kids at several Perth Schools, offering after school ROLLERDISCO’s in
which the kids learn and enjoy rollerblading in a fun and relaxed environment.

Moving to Queensland several years later found Sarah running Rollerdisco’s at the

Palmwood Hall on the Sunshine Coast…

Life later took Sarah to the Northern Italian village of ILLASI…where funnily enough
there was already quite a population of kids who loved rollerblading. After being
seen rollerblading in the streets Sarah was approached by the after school program
co-ordinator to run a Rollerblading Program at the local school. As a fluent speaker
of Italian this was a fun challenge and an incredibly rewarding experience.

On her return to Perth after living in Italy, Sarah ran Rollerblading Programs at Hartfield Park and the High Wycombe Recreation Centre, as well as Roller Derby fitness sessions for adults. She later resumed her after school programs which soon grew to a variety
of different schools in the Perth suburbs including East Fremantle Primary, Mosman
Park Primary, Freshwater Bay, Cottesloe and Dalkeith Primary schools.

These programs are TODAY well attended by children aged anywhere from 4 - 11
years of age. Each week new kids attend - it would seem rollerblading and
rollerskating is indeed a growing sport.

Looking for a bigger space to operate from Sarah heard that the old ROLLERAMA
building was finally vacant (she had been looking at this venue for years…) and

was successful in her proposal to re-instate the Rollerskating Rink. It is with
enthusiasm and joy that Sarah re-opens ROLLERRAMA to the public again and
she looks forward to sharing her passion and to growing roller-sports in the Perth Hills
and beyond.
